Vacmobile 2S HD

Description

The Vacmobile 2SHD is a single pump / single resin trap mobile vacuum system for manufacturing composites using processes such as resin infusion and vacuum bagging. The Vacmobile 2SHD is based on a sturdy but light weight mobile docking cart. The bottom level of the cart accommodates our heavy duty vacuum pump. This pump comes in a range from 28m³/h (16.5 cfm) to 33.6 m³/h (19.8 cfm) in 230 V 50/60 Hz power, or 115 V/60 Hz power. While there are a number of resin trap lid and vacuum control options for the resin trap on the upper level of the cart, the maximum resin catching capacity is always 12 litres (3.1 US gallons).

When infusing large parts, the resin trap (complete with vacuum controls) may be removed from the mobile docking cart and remote mounted. Although we recommend having access to at least 2 vacuum systems when infusing resin into large and high value composites, the Vacmobile 2SHD machine may be used to infuse up to approximately 170 m²(1,829 ft²) of laminate, as long as the resin overflow can be limited to 12 litres (3.1 US gallons). If this is insufficient, the machine’s resin trap may be used as a manifold for up to 8 supplementary resin traps.

Perfect for both infusers of large parts and new infusers

The large resin catching capacity and the user-friendly controls make the Vacmobile 2SHD the ideal solution for users at both ends of the laminating spectrum. While an excellent machine for experienced laminators infusing large parts, the V2S HD is the perfect “peace of mind” solution for users new to infusion – where the risk of accidental resin overflow is greater.

Dual-Vac accessory

The Dual-Vac accessory converts the standard single vacuum level V2S machine into a dual vacuum level machine suitable for small RTM Light and double bag infusion processing.

The accessory allows access to maximum vacuum from one connection of the resin trap and an independently adjustable poorer level of vacuum from the second port. Typically the maximum vacuum port is connected to the clamping flange of an RTM Light mould and the reduced vacuum (often 50% vacuum) to the part cavity of the mould.

Degas Kit

This degasses a thin stream of resin on the way in to the vessel. The degas kit achieves better air removal than is possible with bulk resin degassing and is suitable for resin batches up to 9 litres (2.4 US gallons). It is also effective with high viscosity resins that are difficult to degas in bulk.

Absolute gauge

An absolute pressure gauge is easily fitted to an Vacmobile 2S machine.

VPE ultrasonic leak detector

Ultrasonic leak detectors enable small vacuum leaks inaudible to the human ear to be detected and physically located. Using a leak detector will considerably speed up the location and repair of vacuum bag leaks.

Resin trap	One RT19 resin trap, with choice of trap lid, control manifold and resin catchpot/degas bucket.
Resin catch pot	12 litres (3.1 US gallons). Heat resistant to 220 0C (430 0F). Collapsible resin catchpot and polyethylene degas bucket are optional.
Trap lid	Machined from aluminium plate with a shielded glass view port for greater peace of mind when infusing or degassing. An additional glass port allowing separate illumination of the vessel contents is available as an option. Refer to Vacmobile RT19 information sheet for details.
Lid connections	Up to 8 connections per lid in 4 optional sizes to suit the following outside diameter extruded tubes: 3/8” to 10 mm, 12.0 to 12.5 mm, 1/2” to 13 mm, 5/8” to 16 mm, or 19 mm to 3/4”. With adaptors, also suitable for 1/2” and 3/4” inside diameter tubing. On all standard tubing sizes, high integrity vacuum connections are quickly and reliably achieved at the trap lid via O-ring seals on the outside of the tube.
