Infusions big or small,
there’s a Vacmobile to suit
Vacuum infusion processes are more sensitive to the leak tightness of the
vacuum system than the capacity of the vacuum pump. Purpose-designed to
remain leak-tight over many years of hard use, Vacmobiles are surprisingly
compact, yet handle even the big jobs with ease.
Let us help you choose the best Vacmobile model to suit your needs
Resin infusion, vacuum infusion, vacuum bagging, resin transfer moulding, RTM Light, VARTM. Whatever you call it - Vacmobile mobile vacuum systems are purpose designed to simplify and improve the vacuum processes in composites.
Highly efficient mobile vacuum systems that run on single phase power
Guaranteed high performance, delivering vacuum levels to 98% (29.3"Hg)
Zero installation costs: Delivered complete & ready-to-go right out of the box
Models to suit a range of infusion applications from small parts to wind blades and super yachts.
Vacmobile vacuum systems for composites - Introductory Video
Versatile vacuum systems for vacuum bagging processes in composites manufacturing
Vacuum is proving to be a key element of low to medium volume composites manufacturing processes because it enables high quality manufacture without the considerable capital cost and risk associated with mass production methods.
Vacmobiles suit the current market conditions perfectly as they are extremely versatile in their areas of application, have no installation requirement and are easily relocated. A Vacmobile based plant can quickly be extended in capacity, or even downsized. Vacmobiles deliver the highest manufacturing quality - but without the risk associated with other vacuum solutions. Vacman's Notes (some stuff we've learned)
Oil discharge from vacuum pump exhaust – possible causes and remedies
To obtain the reasonably high vacuum level required for the resin infusion process it is normal to use a single stage oil flooded, rotary vane vacuum pump with an integral oil mist separator. This type of pump is a moderate cost means of achieving vacuum levels in the 98% - 99% vacuum region (20 mbar to 10 mbar of absolute pressure).
In operation, the oil sealed vacuum pump continuously recirculates a volume of oil. If this type of pump is operating within its allowable operating range (which will vary from model to model and from one manufacturer to another) this pump should discharge very little visible oil from the exhaust port of the pump. An occasional drip should not be cause for concern, especially if there is a downwards pointing elbow fitted to the exhaust port of the pump. However, a more sizable spill, as pictured below, should be investigated...

Get Vacmobiles benefits for less cost
Potential Vacmobiles users who already have a suitable vacuum pump, or who can cost effectively source one locally, can make worthwhile savings by fitting their own vacuum pump - without sacrificing any Vacmobiles benefits. The benefits of a Vacmobiles system are:
Sturdy/easy-to-clean resin trap
Simple/ultra-reliable vacuum tubing connections
Compact design, allowing close positioning to the work; improving vacuum in the part, reducing tubing costs and improving quality/productivity.
Although selecting the right type of vacuum pump is important for overall quality of function, the specific make of vacuum pump used in the system is not critical. Furthermore, since most of our pump suppliers are in the northern hemisphere, shipping pumps down to us in New Zealand is relatively expensive. More significantly, we deliver most of our systems by airfreight. As the vacuum pump is the heaviest part of a Vacmobile, supplying the vacuum pump in our complete systems adds significant freight cost.
Pump fitting is most easily accomplished in a Modular 4S system, supplied with 1x RT19 resin trap. This looks like this without its pump:
